Results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2011 conducted for admission to IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management) and other reputed Business Schools (B-schools) will be announced on 11th January 2011. Prometric has conducted the test on behalf of the IIMs.

There is an improved response to CAT 2011 with the cancellation of JMET exam conducted for admission to Management courses in IITs. Known as most difficult examination in India, CAT 2011 has been reflected various improvements in its latest version like consolidation of testing sections from three to two, and a more streamlined check-in procedure for candidates etc. The change in check-in time saved an half an hour for the candidates. The testing agency, Prometric has also opened two new world class state- of-the- art testing facilities in Hyderabad and Gurgaon.

The number of registrations this year was slightly increased for CAT. There were 2,05,345 registered candidates in 2011 against last year's 2,04,267 candidates.
