Intel Pentium P6200 vs Intel core i3-380M Processor

Many of us have observed that Intel Pentium P6200 and Intel core
i3-380 processors are very common in laptops nowadays. Both are dual
core processors, so there is a possibility of getting confused. The
question may arise in your mind which processor is suitable for your
work. Before reaching a conclusion let us analyze the specs of both
these processors – Intel Pentium P6200 and Intel core i3-380M

Both Intel Pentium P6200 and Intel core i3-380M are based on Intel's
Arrandale family and has two cores.
Both processors are fabricated with 32nm technology
Like Intel core i3-380M, Intel Pentium P6200 incorporates 3MB of L3 cache.
Other things like integrated memory controller, integrated graphics
and even die size and number of transistors are same.

Now there are two major differences between Intel Pentium P6200 and
Intel core i3-380M

Intel Pentium P6200 is clocked at 2.13GHz frequency while Intel core
i3-380M clocked at 2.53GHz frequency.
Pentium P6200 doesn't comprises of Hyper Threading technology but
Intel core i3-380M incorporates Hyper Threading technology, by virtue
of  which each core can process 2 threads at the same time. So, 4
threads can be processed at the same time. Thus Intel core i3-380M has
better multitasking ability than Intel Pentium P6200. Even all other
core i3 mobile processors will provide better performance than Intel
Pentium P6200.

Which one is better Intel Pentium P6200 and Intel core i3-380M?

It depends upon your requirement. Suppose you need a laptop for web
browsing, checking email or running MS Office, watching movie or photo
and your work doesn't involve any complicated multitasking program
then Intel Pentium P6200 is more than enough for you.

If you want to run latest professional software or video editing
application on P6200 you might see significant lag with this
processor. In that case you need Intel core i3-380M. However, memory
and graphics are important factor as well.

Intel Pentium P6200 Dual Core Processor Review-2.13GHz

Intel Pentium P6200 Dual Core Processor Review-2.13GHz

Intel Pentium P6200 dual core processor is latest dual core Pentium processor from Intel. The processor operates with 2.13 GHz frequency. Similar to Pentium P6100 it also comes with 3MB of L3 cache which is shared by both cores dynamically. Intel termed it as smart cache.

For an example, the one core of Pentium P6200 processor doesn't need cache and the other one has higher cache requirement, then the later core can utilize entire (100%) cache memory. Thus, over all performance will increase. The processor is intended for entry-level to mid-level laptop. The TDP of the Intel Pentium dual core P6200 processor is 35 watt

Intel Pentium processor P6200 features

The Intel Pentium processor P6200 is based on Westmere architecture fabricated with 32nm technology.  There is an integrated graphics associated with processor but in separate die and graphics die fabricated with 45nm technology.  However, PCI express support is there for supporting external graphics or other external hardware.

In P6200 Pentium processor requirement of FSB or front side bus is removed by high speed DMI bus which connects processor directly with other Chips. The data transfer rate of DMI is 2.5 GT/s. Pentium P6200 processor connects with memory directly via integrated dual channel memory controller. This feature helps to minimize memory latency; also make the whole thing compact than earlier Pentium T4500 other dual core Pentium processors. Intel P6200 processor support only DDR3-800 or DDR3-1066 and max memory supported is 8GB

Intel Pentium P6200 dual core processor houses in PGA988 socket, the processor die size is 81mm square. The number of transistor in processor die is 382 million. The graphics die size is 114 mm square. It has integrated FPU or floating point unit. The clock multiplier is 16x.

When comes to advance technologies Intel Pentium P6200 has support for Intel 64 bits which means it can run 64 bit application (there should be other compatibility), enhanced Speed-step technology for low power consumption. Intel fast memory access helps to reduce memory latency.  Execute disable bit helps to prevent execution of malicious code.

The disadvantage of the Intel Pentium P6200 processor is it doesn't support virtualization.

Performance of Intel Pentium P6200

Intel Pentium P6200 is decent processor for typing, browsing internet, watching video editing video and photo ( even in HD format), listening HD audio. As it comes with Intel HD graphics so there is restriction in gaming. You can play basic games and 3D or flash games as wel,l but in low resolution and low details. You can play game like world of warcraft, COD 4 modern warfare and sims 3. If you are hard core games then choose with i5 processor with at least ATI 5000 series or good  Nvidia graphics.

Comparison with other Intel Graphics and AMD graphics

Now comparing with Intel core i3-370M or i3-380M, Intel Pentium P6200 delivers lower performance than those two processors. The main reason is both processors come with Hyperthreading technology by which each core can run two threads parallel

When compare with AMD Turion II P540 or P560 processors, Pentium P6200 processor is almost equivalent to them from performance aspect. However, AMD Turion II P540 or P560 comes with virtualization technology which supports dual booting.

One lakh jobs can be created by cloud computing by 2015

One lakh jobs can be created by cloud computing by 2015

A research led by Zinnov Management Consulting and an IT firm EMC
Corporation has found that cloud computing in India can create up to
one lakh jobs in an industry worth $4.5 billion.
THE RATE with which technology keeps on expanding, in all likeliness,
cloud computing may create close to 100,000 jobs in India by 2015, as
stated by media reports. The research led by Zinnov Management
Consulting and an IT firm EMC Corporation noticed that of the
projected $4.5-billion total cloud computing market in India by 2015,
private cloud will account for $3.5 billion, generate about 100,000
additional jobs and save about 50 per cent of cost of IT operations
for Indian enterprises.
Explaining the research findings furthermore, Zinnov's Chief Executive
Pari Natarajan was quoted saying that there will be an increased
preference of cloud adoption over the next five years in India. The
total cloud market, which was about $400 million in 2010, is expected
to grow by a whopping 60 per cent annually with private cloud
dominating the landscape.
However, the research also noticed that Indian companies in
partnership are better armed for enterprise services and other
companies would have to focus on its investing and building on the
competency levels because as of now, they are not prepared to take on
the challenges, when compared with the established players.
Natarajan was also quoted saying that cloud computing will reshape the
Indian IT market by generating new opportunities for vendors and
driving changes in traditional IT offerings.
